Curated by Alan Gilbert, Visions is a new, biennial festival featuring music of the 21st century, taking place at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The LFCO has been invited as the only non-German orchestra to present a concert of works which they performed at recent Lucerne Festivals.

Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, Trombone, Horn, Percussion, Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Double Bass

First rehearsal
Wednesday, 1 February (afternoon)
Rehearsals in the Laeiszhalle, concert in the Elbphilharmonie.

Fee and per Diem
CHF 250 gross per day
CHF 30 per Diem for each rehearsal/performance day
Total: CHF 750 gross plus CHF 90 total per Diem

Travel
Arrival: Wednesday 1 February (morning)
Departure: Saturday 4 February
Lucerne Festival will refund the travel expenses (within Europe) of each musician to and from Hamburg up to a total of CHF 250. On ecological grounds, Lucerne Festival would prefer to avoid flight-based travel wherever possible.

Accommodation
The Elbphilharmonie will arrange and cover the cost of accommodation (single hotel rooms including breakfast) for each musician in Hamburg.

Application requirements
– One or two video recording(s) (maximum total 15 minutes) solo or chamber music made within the last two years
– Curriculum vitae in English (maximum of two pages)

Selection process 
The selection will be made of the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Leaders. The results of the selections will be announced by early September 2022. There is no right of legal appeal. No correspondence regarding the decisions will be conducted. Applicants must include concert recordings of themselves; the recording must be uploaded online. Please note that the recording must not be edited in any way.
