Program
The Lucerne Festival Academy is offering a two-week-long Conducting Fellowship which invites four talented young conductors to become a part of the whole Lucerne Festival Academy experience. The selected conductors will join the masterclass in conducting by our composer-in-residence Thomas Adès (played by
Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra) and the Composer Seminar by Wolfgang Rihm and Dieter Ammann (played by
IEMA-Ensemble). As part of the Composer Seminar the selected conductors will rehearse and premiere the new pieces of the young composers, under the coaching of Jonathan Stockhammer.

Profile of Participants
– Advanced conducting students and professional conductors
– Age limit: 32 (cut-off date: 1.8.2022).
– Course language: English
Documents to be submitted online
– Photo (headshot)
– Curriculum vitae in English (maximum of two pages)
– List of works already conducted
– Video recording of two different works (performance or rehearsal), from which one should represent the era of the 20th and 21st centuries

Sunday, 13 February 2022
Audition
The course management, Thomas Adès, and Jonathan Stockhammer will decide on active participation upon receipt of the registration forms and video recordings. The results of the selections will be announced by mid of March 2022. There is no right of legal appeal. No correspondence will be conducted regarding the decisions.
Course fee
There is no fee for active participation in the Lucerne Festival Academy (Conducting Fellowship).
Travel
The Lucerne Festival Academy will cover the travel expenses for each active participant.
Accommodation
Lucerne Festival Academy will arrange and cover the costs of accommodation for each active participant in a local host family.
Meals
Each active participant of the Lucerne Festival Academy will receive a daily lump sum for the main meals.
Scores
Each participant must provide his/her own scores.
