The three respective “Artists in Residence” will each conduct a three-day masterclass at Collegio Papio Ascona. Each course will admit 6–8 students. One third of the available places are reserved for students of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana.
Participants are not required to pay a tuition fee, and their accommodation will be covered by the project budget, which is equivalent to a form of “scholarship.” With this special provision for students, the classicAscona academy distinguishes itself from many other masterclass programs. Students are admitted through a selection process. Each of the three masterclasses will conclude with a final concert. All masterclasses are open to the public and form an integral part of the festival program.
